Climate change being the biggest problem humanity is facing, we need people who can take action against it and help solve the problem. We need people who loves the Earth and takes initiative towards saving it. The best example I can give is Greta Thunberg. I look up to her as a role model and admire the way she thinks. She is only 17 and has been leading a big movement all around the world engaging and motivating young people to take action against climate change. I have recently listened to her speech given at the Davos held in Switzerland. I was literally fascinated! I was left amused by the way she speaks, she leaves a THUMP in every listener’s heart. A part of her speech I really thought was good and true was that it is no use to plant trees in places like Africa while destroying forests like Amazon in an infinitely high rate. I listened to several of her speeches. The speech she gave on International Peace Day at the UN Climate Summit, 2019 where she said “the eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us, I say - we will never forgive you.” She isn’t fighting for herself or her family. She is fighting for us, the younger generations. She is fighting for a safe tomorrow. She is fighting with determination and grit. Like millions of kids around the world inspired by her, she has also inspired me in taking action towards saving the Earth. That’s why I have built a team to do a project for WWF Bhutan. We intend on speaking out to people on the importance of protecting nature and addressing climate change. We will be organizing tree plantation campaigns, cleaning campaigns and a lot of other programs. As of now, the following enthusiastic and energetic members have signed up to be part of the team: 1. Rigzin Palden Our team will try our best, in our own little ways, to reach out to as many people as we can and influence them to take action against climate change. However, we are a small group and we won’t be able to do much without your help. Dear readers, we will be glad to receive new members, suggestions and support from you all.
